MD MEDICAL is dedicated to assisting you in controlling your appetite and controlling your weight. Your weight loss and maintenance program is supervised by Dr.
Miriam Martin, a board certified physician and
member of the American Society of Bariatric Physicians. Each
patient receives a comprehensive medical evaluation and assessment
prior to the institution of their weight loss program. Regular
follow-up visits are scheduled to insure careful monitoring
and optimum success.
Initial Exam
An initial history and physical exam will be performed. In
addition, body composition profile, EKG, Spirometry, blood
pressure, and appropriate laboratory testing will be obtained.
Laboratory testing is routinely performed every four months
for all patients while under active treatment.
Exercise Program
All of our patients are given a personalized exercise program
to follow. These recommendations are made taking into account
your needs and the safest route for you to increase your physical
activity.
Medication
Medication may be prescribed to you as an adjunct to your
treatment. Diet pills are not routinely given to all of our
patients. Although medication may be helpful as an aid to
your treatment, there is no substitute for a sensible diet
and exercise program.
Appointments
Your appointment time is reserved especially for you. Obesity
is a serious medical problem, which requires comprehensive
and personalized care. Dr.
Martin sees patients weekly for their first eight
weeks of treatment. Visits are less frequent as treatment
progresses.
Healthy Eating?
Many patients worry about where they can get meals in fast
food chains or restaurants. It is very easy to get the types
of food you need when you eat out. Dr.
Martin will assist you in selecting healthy items
to fit your individual needs. Pesonalized meal planning is initiated at your first visit.
Office Fees
To effectively and safely treat you, a number of diagnostic
procedures and laboratory tests will be performed. Weight
management is not routinely covered by health insurance. Our
office policy is to collect fees at the time of the visit.
We accept cash and most major credit/debits cards as forms of payment.
Dr. Martin and the staff of MD Medical will assist you in making healthy choices for you and your lifestyle. We encourage you to make a change that will benefit you for the rest of your life!!
